Is it just me or does it seem that 90% of the people we deal with in business (and life in general) are incompetent and/or lack integrity?
I know that sounds harsh, but I'm really wondering why people so often fall short on their commitments. I don't think it's that they CAN'T...I think it's they DON'T.
Now I'll admit I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, but I'm not talking about doing things perfectly. I'm talking about just doing what you're supposed to.
If you sign a contract.......follow through on the terms agreed upon.
If you say you're going to call someone by X date.....call them.
If you give someone your word......honor it.
If you make a promise.....keep it.
Sure things come up, but aside from unanticipated setbacks and challenges...is it really that difficult to be a person of integrity? To be a person that honors their word?
If you don't think you can do something (or just don't want to), then don't make the commitment! When you fail to meet your commitments, you get a bad reputation of being a slacker, unreliable, or flaky.
I think we can all be a little more conscious of how reliable we are as friends, co-workers, bosses, etc.
Plus....it feels nice to be able to rely on someone and to know others think they can rely on you!

Rehab Completed & Have Contract!
Hi guys,
The rehab was finished a few weeks ago and we got a full price contract the 2nd day on the market. Actually we got 2 but we're moving forward with one of them. It's supposed to close at the end of the month so keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!
The profits from this deal are going to pay some debt, my Roth IRA, my daughter's Coverdell, and I'm putting aside some into savings. MAN it goes quick!!! I feel like a house junkie - I'm already jonesing for another!!! LOL.
Here are some pics. Check out the "before" pics from my Feb 2 post.

Phew it's been a while!
Hey guys I haven't posted much (ok..at all...lol) lately but things have been pretty crazy around here. I'm finishing up a 2-part class in bookkeeping, which is something I wanted to learn for my business. I'll probably out-source it in the future, but I just wanted to know what's going on first so I don't get scammed.
Next on the list - lifting is going great. I've been diligent with my training and my lifts are all increasing. I'm very happy. I still need to eat more, but what's new....grrrrrr.
Also, I recently received a few awards from Long & Foster in the Southern MD/PG county region:
Rookie of the Year by Settled Units - 2nd place
Top Rookie Lister of the Year - 1st place
Overall Rookie of the Year - 4th place
Pretty Cool. I didn't even know I got them until I checked my office mailbox (which I do about once a month...lol). I hope they didn't have a ceremony or anything...oops!
I have more exciting news coming so stay posted!

In Loving Memory
"We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever"
This is a quote from the Kennedy family referring to the passing of senator Edward M. Kennedy, but I'd like to dedicate it to my close friend Dante who lost his father this past week to cancer.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Goals! by Brian Tracy.
I just finished it and I have to say it was outstanding. I read a lot of books and I think you'll really enjoy this one. The title doesn't do justice to how much the book covers.
I think he actually has the free e-book of it on his website (www.briantracy.com), but personally I always like a hard copy so I can mark it up with a highlighter and make notes, etc.

Shake & Bake!
Hey guys - we closed on another property yesterday - it was actually pretty painless (except for handing over that much money! LOL) & only took 10 minutes.
The rehab starts on Tues and I'm hoping we can cruise through this project in about 5-6 weeks. I'd REALLY like to have it on the market for at least a couple weeks before the Homebuyer credit expires Apr 30. It's gonna be really tight! The last house we did sold the first day so hopefully we can try and move this one quickly too.
I'm using a new contractor so hopefully there will be no surprises. I have a good feeling about him though and his references checked out so we'll see....
This one's only like a mile from my gym though so I can stop by all the time to check up.
I'll keep y'all posted!
